When Daniel Grollo, the third-generation leader of Melbourneâs most famous construction family, addressed creditors of 43 insolvent Grocon companies last December 9, he was both solemn and defiant.
Describing it as a difficult day in the 73-year history of Grocon, he said he was very sorry for the pain caused to employees and creditors, owed more than $100 million.
