Yesterday we received some good news for our summer holiday prospects. Portugal, one of the UK’s favourite destinations, was finally removed from the Government’s ‘red list’, meaning arrivals from the country will no longer need to spend their UK quarantine in a depressing airport hotel.
But it wasn’t all good news for our holiday hopes. Because coinciding with the removal of Portugal and Mauritius came the addition of four countries – Oman, Somalia, Ethiopia and Qatar – “to protect the country against new variants of coronavirus”.
