The Texans picked up three Lone Star EMMY nominations earlier this month.
Producer and videographer Tyler Suddarth, along with fellow producer and videographer Nicholas Patterson, teamed up on a trio of videos that wound up getting nominated for the 2021 awards. A pair of videos in the "Sports Story: Short form content (up to 10 minutes)" category were selected. One was a bio video on team radio play-by-play voice Marc Vandermeer, entitled "The Story Behind the Voice." It followed Vandermeer's journey from starting out selling advertising spots in his 20's, to his various broadcasting stops in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Massachusetts and Miami. Vandermeer is the only man to have called play-by-play for Texans games on the radio, and he joined the franchise in 2002.
