United suffered a 2-1 defeat to Eastern Suburbs at Bluewater Stadium in
Napier on Wednesday night – signalling the end of an era for football in the region.
The narrow defeat meant HBU finished the campaign in seventh place in the ISPS Men's Handa Premiership table – six points adrift of the playoffs.
