A forensic officer yesterday informed the High Court in Suva that a woman who was allegedly murdered by her husband was lying face up on the floor with two $2 coins covering her eyes.
Police Inspector Petero Loli said he also noticed bruises on the upper body of 44-year-old Jennifer Downes, especially on her neck.
Her husband, Congolese national Kiala Lusaka, is on trial before High Court judge Justice Vinsent Perera for the alleged murder that took place at their Service St house in 2019.
Insp Loli told the court that his job was to examine crime scenes and also supervise officers at the crime scene.
