ST. LUCIE COUNTY — A 52-year-old woman died after a Sunday afternoon traffic crash on U.S. 1 south of East Midway Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The 2:04 p.m. crash happened at Tropical Isles Way and U.S. 1 as the 52-year-old Fort Pierce woman drove a sedan south on U.S. 1, the FHP stated.
“A van coming out of Tropical Isles Way turned left in the path of the sedan causing the sedan to strike a concrete pole on the west side of U.S. 1,” the FHP stated. “A parked vehicle in a nearby car lot was struck by a steel railing from the crash as well.”
