Perry was never a technician. But the degree to which the damage he's taken against the likes of Griffin, Luque and Neal has affected his confidence is dramatic. On Saturday, Perry was standing straight-kneed, flat-footed, high guard, well outside of his effective range. It reeked of a guy afraid to get hit.The ironic thing is that Perry has clearly lost faith in his chin, and yet his durability is the only part of his game that was serving him. Furthermore, if he'd offered any kind of offensive pressure towards his longer opponent, he'd have dammed the river of southpaw left straights coming at him.
