Jonquel Jones is cool if people want to keep calling her, “Mother of Dragons.”
Jones, the Connecticut Sun’s post, had a tournament-record 24 rebounds while playing for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team on June 23 at the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket.
“The Bosnian national team is called the Lady Dragons, so (the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket Twitter account) called me the ‘Mother of Dragons,’” Jones said. “I think it’s super cool. I love it because I love ‘Game of Thrones.’”
The Mother of Dragons has returned to the Sun, who play at the struggling Indiana Fever on Thursday night (7, Indiana Farmers Coliseum, NESN).
