The remnants of Tropical Storm Elsa are expected to head into New England on Friday.
The effects of the system will start in southeastern Connecticut in the early morning hours of Friday, said Gary Lessor of the Meteorological Studies and Weather Center at Western Connecticut State University. Depending on what track it takes, it could reach as far north as parts of Norwich.
After making landfall along Florida's northern Gulf Coast, the weakening storm killed at least one person in Florida on Wednesday and injured several others when a possible tornado struck a campground at a Navy base in southeast Georgia, the Associated Press reported.
