The cancel mob can attack Larkin the man, but they should leave his poetry alone
Hull City Council think the poet’s statue is of ‘concern’ because of racism in his letters. But those remarks don’t represent his work

All that is surprising about the Left coming for Philip Larkin is that it took them so long. His statue in Hull, at whose university Larkin was librarian for 30 years, is on a list of monuments under consideration for removal in order to appease the Black Lives Matter movement.
