AN INDEPENDENT pub’s outdoor area was full - within one hour of reopening.
The Butterfly Collector, on Holton Road, opened their ‘gutter garden’ today in line with the Welsh Government announcement that outdoor hospitality could resume from April 26.
The micropub opened their loading bay, with tables and chairs two metres apart, at 2pm - with the area full just an hour later.
Owner Gareth Slattery said: “It’s all been really good – we were full within the hour.
“Everybody seems to be enjoying themselves and we’ve not had any hassle so far.
"I'm hoping the garden can stay, but everything is weather dependent. They're a hardy bunch, and we've got a few umbrellas, but if you're cold you're cold."
