His agent confirmed the news, according to The Mirror, telling the PA news agency: "
Ronald Pickup actor aged 80 passed away peacefully yesterday after a long illness surrounded by his wife and family."
"He will be deeply missed" they added.
Ronald would be best known for his lead role in
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, playing bachelor Norman Cousins in the film.
He reprised the role three years later for the sequel in 2017.
