The Beatles made an enormous mark on the music industry throughout the 1960s, and into the 1970s. Songwriting duo John Lennon and Paul McCartney frequently cited Elvis Presley as one of their biggest influences in their childhood. Because of Elvis’ legacy, the Fab Four were keen to create a more rock and roll type of act, creating the unique and incredible sound that the band eventually made.
