Thailand has prepared facilities in provinces bordering Myanmar to accommodate a possible influx of refugees, fleeing the brutal crackdown by the Myanmar military and police following the recent coup.
Thailand’s Army Commander-in-Chief General Narongphan Chitkaewtae visited security units in Mae Hong Son and Tak provinces on Monday, to inspect their readiness to cope refugees from the worsening situation in the neighbouring country.
