Transport for London (TfL) has brought forward “vital plans” to make Battersea Bridge safer after a man was killed on the crossing earlier this year following a collision with a vehicle.
Proposed changes include a new signalised pedestrian crossing on the north side of the bridge.
More than 25,000 people signed a petition to improve safety for those trying to cross at the north side of the bridge after 29-year-old marketing manager Jack Ryan died in January after being struck by a car while out running.
TfL will begin engagement with the local community in the coming weeks and work to deliver the safety critical changes "as quickly as possible".
