Teton Pass truck arrestor replaced by ball pit

After years of controversy over the truck arrestor on Teton Pass, the Wyoming Department of Transportation has decided to go a different route.
Instead of repairing the arrestor yet again, the department is installing a giant ball pit in the structure, hoping the toys will act as thousands of plastic pillows for out-of-control semis.
“If they catch kids who climb up the nets and jump in during birthday parties, they should work for trucks,” lead engineer Chuck E. Cheese said.
Cheese said the department was tired of repairing the cable nets after they stopped trucks that smashed into them, calling it “a lot to expect from a few pieces of metal.” WYDOT has purchased the plastic spheres by the millions, buying the surplus from the plethora of failed indoor play places that once filled the centers of commerce called malls.
