DAGUPAN CITY: The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) has assured the public that the training at the Luciano Millan Memorial School of Arts and Trades (LMMSAT) in Asingan, Pangasinan will not be disrupted after its building was gutted by a two-hour fire two weeks ago. 'De-spite this setback, our trainees can rest assured that all efforts are being done to ensure that their training will not be disrupted,' said Secretary Suharto Mangudadatu, Tesda director general, in a statement emailed to The Manila Times. On July 4, a fire heavily damaged LMMSAT's buildings, includ-ing the tools and equipment inside the facilities. The Trainer's Methodology and Tourism Building was also damaged. 'Thankfully, there were no reports of casualties. Despite this setback, our trainees can (be) rest assured that all efforts are being done to ensure that their training will not be disrupted,' said Mangudadatu. He said Tesda was now coordinating with the Rosales Skills Training Center in Rosales town, Pangasinan School of Arts and Trades and the Provincial Training Center, both in Lingayen town, and Pangasinan Technological Institute in Binmaley town regarding temporary training sites and the sourcing of the needed tools, equipment and other materials for training. 'We are extending all possi-ble assistance and resources to LMMSAT to rebuild and repair the damaged facilities. Further, Tesda is working closely with local fire officials investigating the incident,' said Mangudadatu.
