Telangana Police block e-comm, food-delivery services

Synopsis
Thousands of delivery boys of e-commerce and food-delivery services across Hyderabad were stopped, their two-wheelers were seized and challaned, adversely affecting dozens of crores of rupees worth deliveries on Saturday alone.

In its May 11 orders, the Telangana government had clearly exempted from lockdown restrictions the “e-commerce (delivery) of goods and merchandise including food, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment.”
The Telangana Police on Saturday blocked the e-commerce and food-delivery services during the 18-hour lockdown period, in a shift from the May 11 dated government orders that clearly exempted e-commerce and food-delivery services from the lockdown restrictions.
