Bolton Crown Court.
A TEENAGE hit and run driver left a pedestrian seriously injured after swerving into him as he drove to college, a court heard.
Apprentice bricklayer, Liam Glenn, was just 17 when he struck retired Stanley Bowman as he crossed Blair Street in Kearsley in February this year.
At Bolton Crown Court, Bob Sastry, prosecuting, said it was around 8am on February 11, when Glenn was driving his blue Citroen c1 along Manchester Road.
In poor weather conditions, the teenager turned suddenly into Blair Street, cutting the corner and driving on the wrong side of the road.
Mr Bowman was crossing the road at the time, on his way to a chemist, and had almost reached the pavement, when he was hit with such force, he went up on to the bonnet of the car before rolling off.
