Taylor says COVID cases not due to transmission in schools
Marcellus Taylor.
Director of Education Marcellus Taylor said yesterday that the Ministry of Education is not worried about the number of cases in schools across The Bahamas, but if the situation were to worsen, a return to virtual learning could be necessary.
Taylor said that so far, existing health protocols are working to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 in schools when there are cases.
“It’s not so much a transmission issue in the schools,” he said.
“It’s more an issue of people coming to the schools with COVID-19. And so, once you see the numbers increase in the society, you will see some cases in the schools.
