Mayor Van Johnson and members of Savannah City Council have consistently pointed to affordable housing as a major issue facing the city, but they have taken limited steps to address it during the past 16 months.
Elected officials should now have clearer direction with the recent release of recommended strategies from the Housing Savannah Task Force, which was created by the mayor and aldermen in 2020.
