Taipei, April 29 (CNA) Taiwan's government could help Taiwanese fishermen seek compensation from Japan in the event the treated radioactive water to be released by Tokyo into the ocean in two year's time adversely impacts the local fishing sector, according to the Atomic Energy Council (AEC) Thursday.
After convening a meeting with officials from different ministries and government agencies, the council drew up a list of tasks in response to the Japanese plan to dump nuclear wastewater from the disabled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean, which was announced on April 13.
