Leh,November 03 (Scoop News)-A Delegation of J&K Taekwondo Association and Ladakh Taekwondo Association led by Master Atul Pangotra Technical Head UT J&K and Ladakh along with General Secretary Ladakh Taekwondo Association Anayat Ali Shotopa called upon the Mr Hwang Ilyong, Director Korean Cultural Centre India, at New Delhi and had a fruitful meeting regarding the development of Taekwondo in both the UTs.
The meeting was attended by Cho Yangho Head of Education and Grand Master Wang Yong Lee Taekwondo Academy Korean Cultural Centre New Delhi.
During the Meeting the Director announced for sponsoring 2 schools in each UT to Start Taekwondo Classes under its special programme.
The director also assured to support the 1st All India Club Taekwondo Championships from 10 to 12 December in Jammu by Korean Culture Centre in Collaboration with J&K Taekwondo Association.
He also assured for all possible help during the Championship by diputing Grand Master from South Korea and Demonstration Team.
Taekwondo is a traditional Korean martial art with a history of almost 2,000 years and is currently being practiced in 211 countries around the world. It was adopted as an official Olympic sport in 2000. Both UTs of J&K and Ladakh have a great presence at National and International Level in Taekwondo Game.
Master Atul Pangotra thanked the Director for helping both the Association for further promotions of the Game in both the UTs which will help for further boosting the Game up to the remotest area.
Anayat Ali Shotopa said that Ladakh Taekwondo Association has been promoting Taekwondo at School Level with the help of Education Department UT Ladakh and this scheme will further boost the programme as well as will become a source of employment.
