Action on tackling economic inactivity in Belfast's most deprived areas has not progressed in a quarter of a century, it has been claimed.
Alliance councillor Eric Hanvey made the comments during a meeting of Belfast City Council's City Growth and Regeneration Committee.
The committee was presented with an update on the key findings of a report into barriers experienced by economically inactive residents within Urban Village areas across the city.
Part of the Executive's Together: Building a United Community (TBUC) strategy, the Urban Villages Initiative is designed to improve good relations and develop areas where there has been a history of deprivation and community tension.
