'It's like winning the Oscars': Melfort Lawyer receives Queen's Counsel Designation

A Melfort lawyer has been honoured with the Queen’s Counsel Designation in Saskatchewan.
Foluke Laosebikan received her designation in February and says it’s special to be honoured with something like this.
“Most importantly, just a sign that one’s work is regarded by one’s colleagues,” she said.
“It means a lot actually… It’s like winning the Oscars.”

Laosebikan operates FLK Law Firm in Melfort, and was admitted to the bar in 2011. Recently, she was also named the President of the Law Society of Saskatchewan in December. Laosebikan told
northeastNOW it’s overwhelming with everything happening all at once but it’s very surreal.
