Swastika drawn on desk prompts investigation at Moravian College

A swastika found on a desk at Moravian College has prompted stepped up security and an investigation, according to the college president.
President Bryon Grigsby said the swastika was found on a desk April 14 in the Priscilla Payne Hurd Academic Complex on the Bethlehem school’s campus. He discussed the matter in a health alert he posted on the college website.
An investigation into “hateful words and symbols” the week prior to the discovery of the swastika continues, he said.
Grigsby said extra police will check classrooms, common areas and study rooms regularly for vandalism and symbols of hate in the complex. He said it’s troubling that the perpetrator may never be found and urged members of the campus community to lean on each other for support.
