GARRISON — Two men were injured Saturday, May 8, when the Chevy Traverse they were in crashed and caught on fire, northwest of Garrison.
The Minnesota State Patrol was called at 12:19 a.m. to the crash at the intersection of Highways 6 and 18 in Bay Lake Township. The Traverse was traveling south on Highway 6 when it went through a stop sign at Highway 18 and struck an embankment — where it came to rest and caught on fire.
The driver, Thomas R. Raines, 29, St. Michael, and his passenger, Michael A. Steiner, 38, Buffalo, were both transported to Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby for non-life-threatening injuries. It was unknown if the two men were wearing their seat belts and alcohol was involved in the crash, according to the crash report.
