Suspect Damages Van During a 110 MPH Chase with Deputies
Authorities have captured an Anamosa man who led them on a high-speed chase early this morning (Thursday, Jan. 28).
The incident began at about 1:45 am, when a Linn County Sheriff's deputy tried to pull over a van, that was being driven erratically in the area of 34th Street and Iowa Avenue SE in Cedar Rapids.
After the suspect vehicle stopped, the deputy got out of his patrol car; but then the suspect vehicle took off.
Accord to a media release from the Linn County Sheriff's Office, a chase ensued to Mount Vernon Road, going east out of town at speeds of over 110 mph. When the vehicle got close to Mount Vernon, the driver turned onto gravel roads.
