Surrey council to vote on submitting plan to retain RCMP after report claims move would save $235M

Surrey council is set to decide whether to submit its plan for retaining the RCMP, after a draft report prepared by city leaders and the Mounties claimed that stopping the transition to a municipal force would save taxpayers $235 million over the next five years.
