ANN ARBOR, MI - An endless line of cars slowly making their way down Minglewood Street in Ann Arbor on Wednesday came together on one common thread: Their love and appreciation for Joetta Mial.
Each car driving by to wish her a happy 90th birthday on May 5 had a story about how Mial - a former longtime Ann Arbor Public Schools educator who remains heavily involved community philanthropy - had influenced their lives.
There were decades of memories.
“She’s just a super lady,” said lifelong Ann Arbor resident Phillip Anderson, 71, who had Mial and her husband Harry as Sunday School teachers as a child. “It was every Sunday that I was around the Mial family.”
