Supermodel Paulina Porizkova visits Rochester for son's UR graduation
If you remember the 1980s, you probably remember supermodel Paulina Porizkova.
And if you attended University of Rochester graduation ceremonies this past weekend, you might have been in proximity to her.
She was in town to see her youngest son, Oliver Otcasek, graduate from the school.
Otcasek’s father, Cars frontman Ric Ocasek (who dropped the "t" from his name as a young musician), died unexpectedly in September 2019 at age 75 while recovering from surgery, and in an Instagram post, 56-year-old Porizkova referenced his absence at the milestone event without naming him: “This weekend, I want to send out well-wishes and congratulations to everyone whose children are taking a big step into adulthood. But my heart goes out to all of us who are attending such momentous occasions as graduations — with someone crucial missing. Their absence in these joyous occasions is probably even more keenly felt. They SHOULD be here. There is such a painfully felt hollow where they belong.”
