A YOUNG man who survived a suspected heart attack aiming to break a world record on a bike – and then run 10k – in honour of his dad.
Chris Scougal, 35, a former pupil of Sunderland’s Farringdon Community Sports College, has set the wheels in motion for for the longest cycle on a multi-person bike. He plans to then immediately lace up his running shoes and take part in the first mass participation running event to be held in the North East after the easing of Covid restrictions.
Joined by friends Harry Kerr, 42, a senior charge nurse with the NHS, and Steven Whitelaw, 35, a fellow funeral director, Chris will climb aboard a triplet – a three rider cycle – for a 167-mile journey from Glasgow to Sunderland next month.
