As a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic, many businesses across the Municipality suffered incredible financial loss due to the public health restrictions put in place by the Province of Ontario. In an effort to provide support for local businesses, the Queen Street Promenade was created for the summer of 2020. Queen Street was closed to vehicles from North of Durham Market Street North to Lambton Street, Friday evenings through Sunday evening, weekly throughout July & August to support opportunities for physical distancing, greater economic potential and adherence to public health protocols.
