Suisun Wildlife Center, 4 others make grant recommendation list
FAIRFIELD — The Suisun Wildlife Center was one of five applicants that are recommended to receive state Fish and Wildlife Service grants totaling $10,000.
The Solano County Parks and Recreation Commission on Thursday recommended to the Board of Supervisors that the rescue center receive the $2,500 it requested.
Monique Liguori, executive director of the center, told the commission in January that the funds would be used toward continuing efforts to rebuild after an arson fire in June. She specifically noted the funds would go toward the songbird aviary and squirrel enclosure.
