Situation overview
Two new cases of cVDPV2 have been confirmed in Sudan, taking the total number of children paralysed to 46 from
13 states. One case was reported from North Kordofan state with onset of paralysis on 5 October 2020, and one
case was reported from River Nile state with onset on 27 September 2020.
The positive environmental samples remain 11, all from environmental sampling sites in Khartoum State.
Two new positive cVDPV2 contacts have been reported from Gezira state, taking the total number of positive con-
tacts to 14.
During this week the NPL reported 2 AFP cases with L20B isolate (from Khartoum and Red Sea States).
