More than 100 women from all corners of Cumbria took part in a virtual International Women’s Day event last week.
Joining members of Multicultural Cumbria, Furness Multicultural Forum’s Women’s Group, Carlisle One World Centre and Carlisle International Women’s Group, women across the county signed up to as many Zoom events as they liked.
Activities to get involved with covered everything from a relaxing coffee morning and storytelling for children, to interactive African and Bollywood dance carousels, yoga classes, and a Thai cookery demonstration.
Adrienne Gill, from Carlisle One World Centre, said: “I felt inspired and energised by organising this milestone event on Zoom and loved being able to spotlight women as they took turns to speak or perform.
