Joint agents Colliers Ireland and Ireland Sotheby’s International Realty have sold the €20 million Abbey Leix Estate in Co Laois to Stripe co-founder John Collison.
The late-18th-century mansion spans some 2,500 square metres set on more than 1,100 acres along the river Nore, and incorporates an ancient woodland, including reputedly the oldest oak tree in Ireland. It was purchased in 1995 by David Davies, current president of the Irish Georgian Society.
