Strawn Park in Columbia flooded after rainfall on Saturday
ABC17 News
COLUMBIA, Mo.
A park in west Columbia was underwater Sunday afternoon after rain stayed in the area all day on Saturday.
Portions of Strawn Park were seen underwater around 3 p.m. by ABC17 news crews.
The director of Columbia Parks and Recreation Mike Griggs said portions of the park are prone to flooding. He said Harmony Creek flows into Perche Creek. When Perche Creek floods, it backs up into the Harmony, creating slow moving flood waters.
The portions that flood are a few holes of the disc gold course on the east side of Harmony and the parking lots.
