“Experimental” is a word that has defined much of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ second season. From tackling head-on iconic Star Trek episodes with its own takes, to bold plays with format like its Lower Decks crossover or last week’s musical episode, this season has been unafraid to take swings, even when they don’t quite always land.
