STOUGHTON — Let your taste buds explore the Mediterranean, African and Brazilian influenced-Portuguese cuisine that St. John’s Filarmónica Society has to offer.
Located at 845 Washington St. in Stoughton the society just reopened for takeout on Thursdays and Fridays from 3 p.m to 7 p.m.
The food is prepared by Chef Fernando Silva, who is retired and volunteers his time to cook traditional Portuguese food for the community. Silva, 69, was once president of the Portuguese society.
“Before the pandemic, we used the building as a hall. Now we can't rent it, so we run it as a mini restaurant. We sell Portuguese and American food. The menu varies. We change it every week and have different specials as well,” said Paulo Alves, president of St. John’s Filarmónica.
