Stolen van suspect scuffles with Worcester police, tries to take officer's baton
WORCESTER — Two men were held on $5,000 bail Monday after they allegedly stole a van, tried to use it in the theft of a snowblower and, when police confronted them, one allegedly attacked an officer, trying to take his baton as they scuffled on the ground.
Worcester police said they had been looking for a white van stolen from Washington Street March 4. Two days later, they found the van when they responded to a call for a break-in in which two men were taking a snowblower from a shed at an apartment complex on Goldthewaite Road, police said.
