Question 2:
From Ron:
I’ve done a bunch of woodworking, mostly with power tools and home center lumber. How would I explore greenwoodworking?
How does one acquire green wood? (yeah, I know, go in a forest & cut down a tree, but seriously, if you don’t live out in the country with property, how can one explore working with green wood?)
From Gail:
Where do I find green wood in Brooklyn, NY? I am specifically looking for enough raw material to make a Jennie Alexander design shaving horse.
Question 3:
From Leonard:
I have a question on green wood storage. My workshop is not climate controlled. So in winter its really cold – 0°c and in summer it’s +30°c. I have taken Dave’s advice on wrapping in black plastic bags but in the warm weather the wood still dries out. Am I better to keep it wrapped and store it outside all year round under a shelter?? Also would a thick wax be suitable to treat the end grain on a log to prevent drying while still a log?
