O presidente Jair Bolsonaro se tornou oficialmente investigado no chamado inquérito das fake news, que tramita no Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF). O relator do inquérito, ministro Alexandre de Moraes, decidiu na quarta-feira (04/08) incluir o presidente na investigação a pedido do Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE).
O objetivo é apurar se Bolsonaro cometeu crimes durante uma transmissão ao vivo realizada na quinta-feira passada (29/07) em que alegou ter indícios fortes de fraudes nas últimas eleições. As acusações, porém, eram baseadas em vídeos antigos que circulam na internet e já foram desmentidos pela Justiça Eleitoral.
