Stella Tennant, who has died aged 50 of undisclosed causes, was an aristocratic supermodel whose cool modernity and “attitude” made her one of the most sought-after faces in the fashion business over more than 25 years.
Bold, scowly, willowy and posh, Stella Tennant began her career in the early 1990s with fashion shoots for The Face and i-D magazine, her nose ring and pale skin, rendered even more ghostly by a shock of black hair, making her seem the ultimate embodiment of the punk aesthetic.
