Stateâs new COVID-19 cases less than 1,000 for 3rd day

JACKSON, Miss. (WDAM) - The Mississippi State Department of Health reported the daily COVID-19 case count in the state had risen by more than 800, but marking the third consecutive day the stateâs new cases had been less than 1,000.
MSDH reported 825 new COVID-19 cases and 76 additional deaths Tuesday.
Forty-one deaths were reported between Jan. 8-Feb. 1, including one each in Marion and Wayne counties. Another 35 deaths were discovered during a review of death certificates between Jan. 7-Jan. 28, including one each in Forrest and Jones counties.
