State Papers: Dutch donation to garda fund after IRA kidnap of Tiede Herrema 'far too large', officials feared

Civil servants raised concerns that a Dutch government offer to make a IR£5,000 contribution to the Garda Benevolent Fund in thanks for the successful resolution of the 1975 kidnapping of industrialist Tiede Herrema was “far too large”.
