State of Calamity in Caraga, Davao Oriental: Severe Flooding and Damage from TD Kabayan
The LGU of Caraga, Davao Oriental has declared a state of calamity as severe flooding from TD Kabayan affects 17 barangays. 3,334 families are displaced, with significant infrastructure and agriculture damage. Critical bridges have collapsed, hampering aid and transport services. Despite ongoing floods, major rivers and tributaries remain at safe levels. TD Kabayan made landfall in Barangay Concepcion, Manay, Davao Oriental, downgrading to a low-pressure area while crossing Mindanao. The LPA is expected to persist for the next 48 hours.
