Local and state school leaders saw first-hand the needs of Halifax County High School Thursday morning.
Principal Michael Lewis says there are many issues inside Halifax County High School. He says what's inside is outdated. The school was built in the '70s and much hasn't been updated since, causing constant fixes.
"We actually had this one repaired last week but it's nonfunctional again this week," said Lewis, describing an elevator at the school. "This is real, like we had someone stuck on this, this morning, one of our custodians was stuck."
