Deadline confirms that 20th Century Studios (now part of Disney) is finally moving forward with a big screen adaptation of Mark Millar and Goran Parlov's 
Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg was attached to write and produce the movie; thankfully, 
Now,
Attack the Block and
The Kid Who Would Be King's Joe Cornish has been chosen to write and direct the project. Kinberg will still produce alongside Audrey Chon through his Genre Films banner, while Nira Park (a frequent collaborator of Cornish and Edgar Wright's) is also producing.
