The sale of set-top boxes that offer pirated streamed movies and television shows will be banned in Singapore as early as November 2021.
In view of the change in regulations, StarHub is offering S$120 worth of deals to customers who are willing to turn in their set-top boxes that may not be in compliance with the proposed amendments to Singapore's Copyright Act.
In exchange for the set-top boxes, customers will get a free two-year rental of StarHub TV+ Box that is worth S$120, as well as a plug-and-play Android TV-based media player, which offers "one-screen-for-all cinematic viewing experience with Ultra HD 4K support and fast WiFi connectivity", StarHub said in a media release.
